House Build 13
To catch up on house build 1-12 head here.
Exhaustion, though it might not be an emotion it is my primary “feeling” at the moment. The 30th of November left us with a list of to be completed jobs, and a vacate date of the 16th of December. This meant we really wanted the keys by the 9th. Lanky was striving for the builders to finish up, so he paid the final invoice before the work was finished. Our site supervisor looked more and more stressed with every passing day and I struggled with keeping the AuDHD kids out of the packed boxes.
was the house build finished in time? No. Fact is we had issue after issue with the Falcon products, parts missing, then the finish not correct. We are still waiting on Falcon to send out the paneling for the exhaust to be covered with. Site Supervisor (or superhero in this case) rocked up daily and completed tasks that the trades were meant to complete.
we received the keys on the 13th and still had the electricians rock up days later to complete work. To be fair gjgardner would have preferred everything be 100% complete before we took possession. However due to our Landlord wanting to move back before Christmas we sort of had to push the process along.
We are now waiting on the walls to be patched where the electricians had cut.
So between the 13th and the 21st we have been moving our possessions over and cleaning the rental. Today our Landlord moved back in and we officially gave the keys back.
We’ve spent the last few days starting to slowly unpack boxes and arrange furniture. Tomorrow we will install our clothesline.
Notable Damages.
Some notable damages due to the move.
The TV somehow got a crack in its screen.
One of the bee hives took a tumble.
The fly screen door was run into by Daisy resulting in her breaking it.
The old Singer sewing machine took a tumble off the trolley.
But after some long months and a few mishaps we finally get to sleep in our new home. I dont think any of those things could sour that moment.
now we have to finish up unpacking.
