Chocolate chip biscuits

In our household, it’s become a cherished tradition where our kids eagerly join in to lend a hand in baking these delightful treats. Straight from the oven, they’re met with wide eyes and eager hands, ready to savor every gooey bite. Whether you prefer the irresistible pull of a warm, gooey center or the satisfying crunch of a slightly longer bake, these biscuits cater to every palate. Perfect for dunking into a steaming cup of tea or coffee, they elevate any cozy moment into a blissful indulgence.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup Unsalted Butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup Granulated Sugar
  • 3/4 cup Brown Sugar
  • 2 Large Eggs
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 2 1/4 cups All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 2 cups Chocolate Chips

Instructions:

1. Preheat Oven:

  • Preheat your oven to 190°C. Line baking sheets with parchment paper.

2. Cream Butter and Sugars:

  • In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until the mixture is light and fluffy.

3. Add Eggs and Vanilla:

  • Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.

4. Combine Dry Ingredients:

  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt.

5. Gradually Add Dry Ingredients:

  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.

6. Fold in Chocolate Chips:

  • Gently fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the cookie dough.

7. Scoop Cookie Dough:

  • Using a cookie scoop or a tablespoon, drop rounded balls of cookie dough onto the prepared baking sheets, leaving enough space between each for spreading.

8. Bake:

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 9-11 minutes or until the edges are golden but the centers are still soft.

9. Cool:

  • Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring them to wire racks to cool completely.
